The allegation is serious that her aides siphoned off Rs 1,400 crores to build this memorial. The only defense the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is offering is that former Chief Minister Mayawati wasn't directly involved. But it is the possible political ramifications of Mulayam Singh Yadav going after the BSP supremo in New Delhi that could have the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) worried.
