The Danube's water level reached a record high of 12.2 metres there on Monday, last seen in the 16th century.
Most if not all of the city's streets are underwater, with rescue workers making their way through town by motorboat.

Czech Prime Minister Petr Necas declared a state of emergency for most of the nation on Sunday and pledged over $15 million dollars in relief efforts.
