Urban parking garages do require some deft maneuvering.
On July 4th, a 69-year-old woman in Japan spent the day doing a little shopping. Everything was fine until she got into her vehicle to drive home.
She touched the gas petal and somehow ended up careening through a gate in the parking garage she was in. Her car plummeted three stores down, which equated to over 20 feet.
The automobile fell towards the ground and landed on top of another vehicle. But it was far from over.
The car continued driving after the rough crash and dropped off a ledge. It then drove through a parking lot before finally halting at a nearby toll booth.
After the crazy stunt, it was a shock to all witnesses that the elderly woman was barely hurt. She did encounter very minor injuries to her right arm.
Thankfully, no one else was hurt, but several other cars were damaged during the ordeal.
The car appeared to rapidly accelerate by itself. The investigation is ongoing.
