The recent success of spy thriller D-Day seems to have worked wonders for director Nikhil Advani, who has been finalized to direct the remake of Subhash Ghai's Hero, claim sources.
The remake project has been backed by Salman Khan and marks the acting debuts of Sooraj Pancholi, the son of Aditya Pancholi and Athiya Shetty, the daughter of Suniel Shetty. The film is expected to go on floors soon, despite the fact that Sooraj Pancholi was recently in the spotlight after his arrest for abetting his girlfriend Jiah Khan's suicide.
The original 1983 Hero had starred Jackie Shroff, Meenakshi Sheshadri, Sanjeev Kumar, Shammi Kapoor, Amrish Puri and others.
