A mother of two sons jumped from an 8-story window around midnight yesterday in Taichung, Taiwan. Her teenage son fled the scene on a scooter after witnessing the event. The woman's husband, who is also the father of her two sons, is currently in prison for drug offenses.
This wasn't the first time the woman had attempted to commit suicide. She had previously threatened suicide during particularly hard economic conditions. She had relied on an unemployment pension to raise her two sons.
