Miley Cyrus has snubbed some motherly advice about her new bad girl image from Irish singer and sometime rebel Sinead O'Connor.

Cyrus has rebuffed an open letter from O'Connor calling on Cyrus to tone down her sexualized persona.

The feud started on Thursday (October 03) when O'Connor posted a note expressing concern over Cyrus' new image, suggesting that Cyrus is allowing herself to be "pimped" by the music industry. O'Connor also said she was worried the former child TV star was being exploited in her latest video for the song "Wrecking Ball."

Cyrus struck back, mocking O'Connor by posting a screen shot of her tweets from 2012 in which she referred to her own mental health problems, asking for Twitter followers to recommend a psychiatrist. Cyrus also compared O'Connor to Amanda Bynes, who is currently undergoing psychiatric treatment.

O'Connor posted a third note, calling Cyrus "ignorant" and demanding that she "publicly apologize" for her comments.
