A person with a gun opened fire inside a shopping mall in New Jersey on Monday evening.
Police say they believe there is only one shooter who is still inside the Garden State Plaza which is located in Paramus, New Jersey.
Local TV showed images of a massive police presence outside and inside the building.
Witnesses say they heard multiple shots and saw people running towards the exits.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) UNIDENTIFIED WITNESS SAYING:
"He had the rifle straight up and he was just shooting. And he was just shooting straight ahead. Oh my god my heart is beating. I can't even breathe."
Local media say there are no reports of injuries at this time.
