FreeQuency aka FreeQthaMighty (Mwende Katwiwa) is a spoken word artist hailing most recently from New Orleans, LA. The daughter of two lifelong educators, FreeQuency is currently a senior studying Political Economy with International Perspectives and African & African Diaspora Studies at Tulane University. On campus, she is a producer for the Vagina Monologues, Chair of the Black Arts Festival, and is the first recipient of the Bruce J. Heim Foundation Student Service Fellowship. Off campus, she is a blogher for Winnovating (www.winnovating.com) and with Melissa Harris-Perry's Anna Julia Cooper Project on Gender, Race and Politics in the South (www.cooperproject.org). FreeQuency's work can be found in such publications as Multicultural Education Magazine, Sweet Lemon magazine, and in the upcoming book Trayvon Martin, Race, and American Justice: Writing Wrong.
