Find the best financial services for you at: SMARTFINANCESOLUTIONS.NET - How hard is it to get an apartment when just one partner has bad credit? - My fiance (we're getting married this weekend) has good credit. Mine, as of right now, is shot. I'll be filing for bankruptcy within the next couple of months. I do have a judgment from an apartment on my report, currently (long story). Anyway, I just want to know how landlords are at accepting (or not accepting) couples when only one of them has bad credit. He's in the military, active duty. I'm wondering if this could help our chances or not. I don't want to keep paying app fee after app fee only to get turned down, and I don't want him to sign the lease, then attempt to add me on later after getting accepted, to have me denied. He lives across the country (in Colorado), and the plan is for myself and my daughter to move with him in June, after she's done with school. How hard will this be? I don't want to hear rants about how I should have been more responsible, etc. etc. What's done is done, it's in the past, and I'm working to fix that. What kinds of things could help? A co-signer? Offering to pay an extra months rent up front? Please let me know what to expect. -
