First off let me start be saying that I filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy last year. I have also had student loans in the past, but I am paying on them. I got a letter in the mail 2 or 3 days ago from Plaza Associates in New York about a student loan. I have never got a bill from the place that it says that I owe. If I owed them something it looks like I would have received a bill from them and not a letter from a collection agency. I sent Plaza Associates a copy of my discharge on my bankruptcy today. I also got a call from Plaza Associates about 30 minutes ago regarding this. The lady said they would like to work something out with me. I told her that I have never received anything from the company that she was telling me about. She said if I didn't work something out that they could garnish my wages and assets. I am trying to get on disability right now and I do not work. If this is something that I owe (which I do not recall this company she was speaking of), what can they do legally since I am not working. -
