My mother receives a monthly social security check and she has recently used her credit cards for medical bills. Her medical bills caused her credit card balance to go up 3 times. She worries that she will be unable to make credit card payments. She wants to know what will happen if she is unable to make payments. Would the credit card companies will take money directly from social security check?
Also would it be better for her to file a bankruptcy so that she is discharged from the debt obligation?
She is living in a senior housing apartment and will she be evicted if she is either unable to make credit card payments or file a bankruptcy?
