I received the money directly. It never went to the school. They just asked me for proof of enrollment, ran my credit and asked for proof of employment. I borrowed 30,000. Since then I have been on time with my payments until I tried to file chapter 13 bankruptcy. I never went through with the bankruptcy and was dismissed a month after filing for it. Now somehow my loan automatically placed me into default and to make a long story short it's been a year and it is now with a collection agency and has accrued to 35K. I want to know if this loan is dischargeable through bankruptcy, is it UNSECURED????? I have read several sites that state that this was a unsecured loan. ANY help would be greatly appreciated.
