A doctor in Lake Worth, Florida is now facing allegations of taking part in unethical practices and treatment concerning a female patient. According to Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, Dr. David Simon used whips, cuffs, blindfolds and chains as a form of punishment therapy to combat a female patient’s depression.
Simon, who is a doctor of osteopathy, admitted to the sadomasochistic, sexual relationship, but he claimed it was consensual. The punishing sex acts were reportedly carried out in his office after hours where police found several sexual items.
The unidentified 39-year-old female patient spoke to investigators about her unconventional relationship after her psychologist voiced concerns about the situation. The doctor and the woman established their connection in 2011.
According to Simon, the female was the one who asked for the sexual relationship. He claimed to have terminated her as a patient before becoming intimate with her, however the woman said that wasn’t the case.
The female claimed she went into the office monthly for the punishment therapy. She would then perform sexual acts on the doctors as a way of thanks.
Simon reportedly gave the female money to purchase food and medication samples after the sessions.
