No bankruptcies, but a few past collections and 1 garnishment. That was a few years ago. Since then I've pulled myself out and corrected the past mistakes. The problem is that the damage as already been done, and many know that its very, very difficult to fix a bad credit score. Its getting better.
Needless to say, I want to get a new apartment in a few months. My plan is to be absolutely upfront about my credit. I plan on being upfront about the situation and offering additional months rent/deposit from the start. My current landlord (of 3 years) can tell them I have never been late on rent or a problem. References are good, employment has been good (7+ years), no criminal history, just crappy credit.
Looking to see if there is anything more besides this that I can do? Anyone ever go through the same thing? If it wasn't for my credit I'd be a perfect candidate. -
