What is a niche market? It's a specific group of people going online to find a solution for their problem. e.g dog crooming
So don't think about product yet. It's all about market first.
Where do you start looking for your niche market ideas?
Well get a pen and a paper and sit down to brainstorm ideas:
- Write down your interests and hobbies.
- Are you an expert in something? Write down your expertise.
- Brainstorm ideas with your family and friends, maybe you have an expert in your family.
- You could visit your local newsagency to see what magazines are available for different markets.
- Visit Clickbank.com marketplace to see markets that are already selling well.
Then when you got a few niche market ideas, go to Google™ Keyword Planner and research your keywords.
Find out how many people are searching for your ideas. How much advertising competition there is? Try to aim for HIGH Volume with LOW (or Med.) advertising competition.
How much free information there is readily available online for your niche?
After you have found your niche market, then find out what your market wants. Join groups in your niche eg. in the Facebook. Read blogs and ezines of your niche. You can find them by going to Google Search and write down e.g "dog crooming blogs" if your niche is dog crooming.
Remember, you need to create a product that your audience wants and asks for. It's not always something that you think it is. Let your research show the result.
Find out what is this group of people talking about and what kind of problems they are dealing with? Do you see the same question coming up all the time? Could you create a solution for this problem? What are they spending their money on?
Also you could create a survey for your market by using SurveyMonkey.com. Ask questions, this way you'll find out exactly what your niche market is looking for. The better you know your market, more successful you'll be.
Get started and keep the momentum going. Remember you can take a horse by the water, but you can't make him drink. So start following proven steps and take actions. The knowledge does nothing without ACTIONS. Don't be afraid to make mistakes, learn from them. As Thomas Edison said "I failed my way to success".
