From one day to the next, Léo, Max and Charlie, three (part) brothers, leave the fog of Liège behind and find themselves basking in the sun of Valencia, in the south of Spain.
They are there to fulfill the last wish of their dying father, Pablo, who adopted them when they were young. Pablo, exiled to France at the end of the Spanish Civil War, hasn’t been back home since. Unexpected encounters with their father’s friends and comrades reveal unknown aspects of the old man’s past. They cross paths with two elderly and playful anarchists, a rather peculiar Guardia Civil captain, a former toreador now a barkeep, a major who confuses his barracks with an opera house and, above all, the sublime Angela…
This warm-hearted fable speaks of our indebtedness to each other, rivalry, love, gratitude, eternal friendships, music and the ups and downs of life. A matter of remembering that we’re never too old to keep growing up and that sometimes life deals us a good hand.
