Hope fades as Geneva 2 talks end

On the dusty hills outside Amman, Jordan, a makeshift tent camp teeming with children is void of hope.

For the Syrian refugees living there, the Geneva 2 peace talks offers no consolation.

(SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) ABU ALAA, SYRIAN REFUGEE, SAYING:

"Geneva 2 is useless. The destruction has increased. Homs has been destroyed and so has Damascus. What else is there? They forced people out of their homes. Everything is ruined."

Back in Switzerland, the opposition Syrian National Coalition appears to feel the same.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) OPPOSITION'S SYRIAN NATIONAL COALITION SPOKESMAN LOUAY SAFI SAYING:

"I am very sorry to say really there is nothing positive we can take. We have been disappointed completely, not only by the regime, but other sponsors so far, particularly the Russians, have not prevailed over the regime, that want to stall. I hope they will do something about it."
