This song’s full title is “The Interstellar ‘Thank You Jesus! Chant, Atmospheres, Version One”, and is from Steven Welp’s seventh CCM (Contemporary Christian Music) album “THE INEFFABLE”, first released February 16, 2014 (album first released March 29, 2013). Imagine, if you will, a time, possibly in the not-so-distant future, when the problems of long distance space travel have been mostly overcome. And the first “short hop” interstellar flight to star Tau Ceti, less than 12 light-years from Earth, of two weeks, using FTL propulsion, a faster-than-light speed drive, has left Earth’s international space station. The governments of the world are once again, as in the beginning of space travel in the 1960’s, in a “friendly” race, this time, science fiction-like, to the stars. The technological and health challenges wrestled with in the late 20th and early 21st centuries, light-speed propulsion systems, negative microgravity effects on human health, reliable and abundant food/water/air, HVAC and sanitation processing systems, space weather impacts, etc., are all matters simply resolved with pro-active bio-electric computer system hardware/software, equipment and spacecraft constructed with rare-earth materials sourced and processed on the Moon and Mars. The only unknown remaining is the effect of all this technology and travel has upon the human mind, emotions and spirit. So, the “Star Trek” having become reality, at approximately mid-point in the flight a thorough check list with Earth bottom-lines every plan and system has performed flawlessly and the four crew members, two men and two women, are in perfect health and good spirits. One point of concern is a sudden and unexpected solar flare which has generated a moderate-sized solar wind, which the spacecraft will shortly enter and pass through. Calculations predict there will be no negative impact on the crew, craft or systems. So, with all the tedious tests completed with flying colors, and the crew exhausted, all systems are powered down to shelter the solar wind effects, and everyone, exhausted, goes to bed. Sometime during the “night” everyone is awakened to the sound of “voices” which seem to be resonating in the hull of the spacecraft and all metallic equipment, acting as if....GO TO YOUTUBE FOR FURTHER INFO...
