PTCL outplay NPC in an exhibition match. Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) XI hammered National Press Club (NPC) XI by 32 runs in the exhibition cricket match played at Embassy Cricket Ground. NPC in collaboration with PTCL, Pakistan Cricket Board, Brighto Paints and Capital Development Authority (CDA) has organized PTCL Inter-Media cricket tournament which will commence from April 11. According to details, the PTCL-XI batted first and scored 100 runs for 9 in the allotted 10 overs. For PTCL, Jabran Abbasi scored 27 and Ajmal Khan made 18 runs, respectively. From NPC XI, Afzal Javed and Shakir Abbasi took three wickets each. In reply, NPC XI failed to achieve the target and lost all wickets in the 9th over scoring 68 runs. Afzal Javed was the top scorer who made 23 runs. Jabran Abbasi of PTCL was declared man of the match for his all-round performance. Governor KPK Engineer Shoukatullah was the chief guest at concluding ceremony while chief marketing officer PTCL Furqan Qureshi, General Manger PTCL Imran Janjua, President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) Afzal Butt, President NPC Shahryar Khan, Secretary Tariq Choudhry, chairman organizing committee Mohsin Ali and others were also present on the occasion.
