Andrei Sannikov tells France 24 what was like to stand up to Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, dubbed "Europe’s last dictator". Sannikov, who now lives in exile in Warsaw, leads the civil campaign "European Belarus". He argues that only by resolving its crisis of values can the EU successfully promote democracy in peripheral states such as Belarus and Ukraine.
