Terrorists belonging to the Islamic Front planted a huge amount of explosives in a tunnel they dug below the Carlton Hotel, detonating it remotely. The hotel was destroyed in the blast and there were casualties among Syrian Army troops. The explosion was a preparation for an attack by rebels crossing the demarcation line and break into the old city. Hotel was hit again some weeks ago by another detonation.
