STORY: "Godzilla," the latest reboot of the iconic Japanese franchise, made its Hollywood debut on Thursday (May 8), with stars Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen and Ken Watanabe taking to the red carpet for the premiere.
The film pits the world-famous monster against other gigantic creatures that have been bolstered by human science, as nuclear physicist, Joe Brody (Cranston) and others scramble to save humanity from a potentially apocalyptic threat.
Actor Bryan Cranston, known most recently for his role on the hit TV series "Breaking Bad," explained that this latest Godzilla movie stays true to the film's origins, delivering both action and an important social message.
"Well, every Godzilla movie that honors its history has some sort of metaphor connected to it, and this one certainly has that. Nuclear proliferation and the dangers of that, how much can we push mother nature before it pushes back," Cranston said.
