While is it sad to watch a penguin fall victim to the food chain, it is extremely interesting to see how well this penguin fends off a predator that is 10-15 times its size. Notice how the sea lion is unable to grab this king penguin face-to-face, potentially fearing losing an eye, getting bitten or whacked by the steel-hard flippers of the penguin. The sea lion must actually push the penguin down and grab it by its back in order to get its teeth around the bird.
