Lifetime Outdoor Storage Box Review - waterproof, yes if the lid is closed properly!

This model is the same exact model as the 60 inch model shown with the darker lid which is more popular. Darwin at Lifetime Products verified this to me in an E-mail. The downside to the darker covered one though is that the lid gets EXTREMELY hot.
Some have asked if it's waterproof, and I can answer firmly yes, as long as the lid is closed properly. I sanded a bit off of the latch in which you place the lock. There is a snapping motion at the end that must be performed if you want to keep water out. If you're lazy in terms of not closing it firmly, water can possibly get in.

I've performed some modifications to mine by adding a rubberized gym mat and exercise mat, but my purpose is a quite unusual one, since I use it to keep packages in, when I'm in Florida. The deliverymen always say that they love my system, but you're probably going to purchase it to store pool/barbecue supplies. I'd recommend having 2 people snap it together, but I only used myself. For best results and safety, don't tell kids that they could fit in there because most likely they could, and once it's snapped shut they may have a hard time getting out. Anyway, it's seriously large so take that into consideration.

update and notice: as soon as someone who weighs 200 pounds sits on it, the underside of the lid forms bumps on top of the lid and stays there. It isn't very noticeable, but for a very particular guy like me it is.
