President Barack Obama told new graduates of the West Point Military Academy on Wednesday (May 28) that it would be their generation's task to respond to a changing world by choosing how best to lead and how to extend peace and prosperity.

"Here's my bottom line: America must always lead on the world stage. If we don't, no one else will," Obama said.

During his roughly 45-minute commencement speech, Obama laid out a broad vision for America's role, one that is reliant on international diplomacy and avoids over-reaching or unilateral action.

His speech touched on numerous overseas conflict, including Ukraine, Syria, Russia, China and many more.
