Sweathog "Sweathog" 1970
Sweathog was a quartet formed in San Francisco, his music was a blend of Southern Rock were slightly influenced by soul, funk and blues, all wrapped around a virtuoso rock sound. The group signed with Columbia Records and just released his first album, the eponymous 1971 album, but the album failed to catch on a hit in the charts on radio to boost sales, although its cover image of bare buttocks was censored in several countries.
In 1972, they released their second album "Hallelujah", which reached number 33 on the national charts, but that the relatively modest performance does not indicate how popular it was on the radio, where he stayed close to airplay a Top 20 hit. They separated in 1973 and later played on the album Goldsmith Martha Reeves first solo post-Motown before joining Stoneground.
