Your absence leaves me with an
empty page on which two diverging
stories are written, but who cares
about loss when it leaves a meaningless
vacuum, never totally gone, but shrinking
to a pinpoint of pain.
Don't touch it for it evokes hope
and desire which are best ignored.
Only in foolishness, the wish
persists.
I miss your unruffled nature, your easy chuckle,
your seemingly desire to please, although
under scrutiny it hides what you want.
I fill the air with words that come from the heart
and your mind is spinning, dodging, letting me think
you understand when in actuality, you do not feel
what I feel:
An upcoming loss!
