My life, a shadow of what I once hoped to be
Dead in heart, dead in mind
What I felt, I feel no more
What I heard, I hear no more
My life, an empty cave on the sea shore
Waves of regret and guilt hit against my walls
An empty cave,
Only echoes of dreams I once had
What I wanted, I want no more
I see no tomorrow
Only blurred glimpses of hopes and wishes
I stand on the shore,
I see a vast ocean of despair
The waves wash the sand from beneath my feet
I keep sinking in despair
I am dead except I am alive
