my partner for the day
long before dawn
kiss you awake
in the quiet moments
the horizon begins to appear
wait for the waves
to carry the light here
would you be my dusk
as a hand sets day down
sounds of geese
calming all around
waiting for the change
when it all becomes clear
eyes adjust to the night
then I can see you near
would you be my strength
in moments mine eludes
instinctively pulling me close
the way I long to with you
secrets of the universe
together we would find
disappear in the night hours
leave our worries behind
