Have you ever been in a hole
but remained
so you could push others out
lived to prevent others pain
no matter how far it took
you down
have you ever been used until
there was nothing left
not even the benefit of a doubt?
ever been in a place
surrounded by only those
who care nothing for what life's about
the suffocation
nearly destroys
takes all that you are
would you begrudge
even a small false hope
if it gave a prisoner wings to fly far
does it matter
what restored
someones desire to live
can't you just accept
someone is going to sing
about the love you give
