Writing a Way Out
sneak away to write
then have to hide that side of me
don't think I don't know
when you've sifted through my things
it's gotta be some form of indecency
don't wanna be a part
of any position that would include you
invited you've been
came back with accusations instead
turn it around to suit you, make me out to be cruel

but it's only words thrown at me

you'll just have to get used to it

your fears cornered me in til
you were comfortable and then
choked on tears til it drowned my heart
i got a glimpse of me
no longer ashamed to show
what you called insignificant
as if I was the only one
who survives by this way to cope
