Shadows kiss
without kissing,
touch
without touching,
yearn for love,
never knowing
it's warmth.

Lovers smooch
in a doorway,
where light glows
from windows,
while shadows,
they drift
over walls.

Dancing
so sprightly
they trip
and they tango
in tricks of the light
as they fly
and they prance.

They slip
and they slide
through a window,
so swiftly,
to creep neath a duvet
unseen
by sharp eyes.

They endeavour
to woo but when
darkness kills sunshine
black floods
the land
and all shadows,
must die……

It was good
for a moment
but moments
are fleeting,
as moonlight
and stars chase
all shadows away.
