Dr John Celes - Sonnet: Angeline

2014-06-12 5 Dailymotion

A cheerful girl of adolescent age:
Who smiled always and helped others to laugh;
Who helped mother in chores and read each page;
Whose heart was large and suffered nightly cough!

Well-mannered girl, who studied hard and worked,
She looked after the little ones at home;
She cleaned the house and cooked and washed and joked;
Early from bed, she wore a face welcome!

A favorite of everyone, she was;
She wore plain clothes and led a simple life;
Her sudden death at fourteen was a loss;
She patiently bore disease amidst strife!

An Angel- God took her away when young;
In Heaven now, she prays to Jesus, clung!

“Is it true that good earthlings named ‘Angeline’ die early? ”
Yes, may be when they live up to their heavenly names!
Dedicated fondly in memory of my beloved elder sister
(late) Angeline Mary Rexina
