One word of yours and I’m assured;
One nod of head and things would move;
One stare of yours: I’m back to senses;
One yell and would I dare speak the same?
What magic most mothers possess!
One kiss of yours: My pain is gone!
One touch by hand: I stop my cry;
One smile from you: I’m encouraged;
One glimpse can be so meaningful!
What prowess mothers truly hold!
What love! What care!
What pains you take;
What toil, what sacrifice!
What time you spend
for child’s sake!
You hear my woes and console me;
You feed and ready me to school;
You nurse and keep me always clean;
What patience, thoughts,
your heart afills!
Mother of mine, you’re truly great!
You taught me how to speak and write;
You showed me how life should be lived
And the road to Heaven!
O Angel of love!
