Please darling don't despair,
Because I'm over here and you're over there.
Our first Christmas apart from you all,
I long to be home but duty calls.
Tell the girls I love them and I am safe,
They fill my life and light my way.
I know Christmas presents aren't what they've been,
Next Christmas will be much better again.
I'll be home in late spring,
My duty will be complete.
We'll make love in a garden,
With flowers under our feet.
Tell Jack and Jane I'll be fine,
This will be over soon in short time.
Girl, you know I love you so much,
Even though we are apart our souls still touch.
