Grievous fetters bind the feet
Ponderous stones oppress the heart
Deprived- without sensation
No virtue to impart.
Despondent skies above;
Stalwart shades of gray
Begrudging every night-
Despising every day.
Mirror cloaked in shadow;
Disemboweled soul
Reflection of hypocrisy-
No worth to extol.
Sorrow prepossessed;
Bereavement—one’s own obsession.
Entombed in the abyss
Disillusioned by depression.
