When we were friends,
You and me,
We swapped secrets like letters
Give and take,
Hands brushing, skin on skin,
Whispers passed through heart felt lips.
A cord stretched
taut as a word, fractured like glass,
You dashed it against the wall.
The shards flashed in the dying light.
And now you sit with a snigger in your eye,
And I hold the shards in my palms, and bleed.
