All I want is a minute dedicated to me.
I want someone to be there for me.
I want someone to show me they care.
Someone who would listen to me,
And even encourage me.
Someone who would not turn their back on me.
But, instead shares a smile with me.
Can you be that someone?
Can I trust you?
Can I count on you?
Can you be there for me?
I know is so much to ask for,
And so hard to do,
But, all I want is
A real friend.
Someone I can talk to.
Someone I can go to,
Someone who I can hug,
And feel protected by.
Someone who will be there,
Even on my hardest time.
Someone who will be,
truly honest with me,
And wouldn’t judge me.
Someone who really cares for me.
Someone I can cry with.
Someone who will lend me a hand,
Just to help me out,
Or lift me up.
That’s the friend I want,
Not the one,
Who says I’m your friend,
Just to take advantage of you,
And laugh at you.
