Stick out your tongue
and swallow the devil down
for we are his champagne
we are his cocaine
we are his red light requiem now
and we have it made
like Hennessy hangovers
succumb to our hands
our lips
our fingertips
take our blood
and mix it like chemicals
inhale the dust of our dried sweat
protect the lump in your throat
dip your fingers in the wet
and let the yearning build in the coore
let dilated eyes,
pearl grey in the sunrise,
roam the bodies on the floor
unfaithful voices
soft as smoke
waken as distant daylight blooms
the lips of strangers seal our wounds
and we sleepwalk into town
and strip our anger to the bone
we let the madness come in
and we feel the lightness and the beauty
as the high passes thru us
we were all in love
and we all got hurt
but we return often
and we remain taken
the blood keeps us in confidence
a covenant
one more night lost to our youth
to our beauty
we are snow-filled
and yet again
we swallow the devil down
we are his ecstasy
we are his treachery
we are his pornography now.
