It's a special sound that has the power
to transport my mind and spirit
to a different place
beyond my circumstance in life;
bring comfort to these weary bones
even a smile through aching tears.
I no longer feel disconnected,
a motherless child adrift in the universe,
when my heart and soul
breathes that sweet breath of heaven;
comes to life again
in the rhythm of the Blues.
