Meaningless words written on paper and notebooks,
On bathroom stalls and best friend's hands
Pictures taken at the photo store,
The smiling faces and gleaming eyes…
Hopeless dreams at nighttime,
Shallow visions in the day,
Thoughts of an imaginary future flood the mind…
Only to have the paper thrown out
And the names on the notebook covered,
Crossed out in the stalls and washed from the hands…
Pictures put in a box and shoved away
Into some forgotten place…
Dreams, visions, and thoughts repeated
With someone else's face
As the cycle re-starts…
