Never grow old, kid, never change.
Years from now we’ll revisit you
In thoughts and dreams; we love
You for your smile, your spring,
The way you sing and dance and
Throw rocks.
Never listen to the lies, kid, don’t exchange
The word of God for the love of man—
They think you’re strange, yet I
Long for your laughter! If only the world
Knew how to sing and dance and
Lose socks.
Never lose your hope, kid; stand firm in faith.
Love your neighbor, trust in the Lord,
Listen carefully for His voice, it’s often soft.
I wish in years to come that your still
Waiting, jumping in the doorway,
Off to Bible Club again.
Always remember, Jesus died for you.
In heaven we will sing and dance and
Play turkey-turkey-Spiderman, we’ll
Probably still cheat, too.
I love you, kid.
