Solomon addressed the people
'Oh you, the people of Israel,
Our Lord, you must all praise,
For, he kept up all his promises.'
'God told my father David,
That a temple, I'll build.
His command, I've obeyed.
So here, He willingly stayed.'
Before God, he then stood,
And to the Lord, he prayed,
With his hand both raised,
The Lord, he heartily praised.
'O God, you kept your promise.
You gave us freedom and peace.
May the Lord ever be with us.
Our prayer to You is only this.'
He sanctified the temple,
With his offerings too liberal.
The people praised him,
And happily went home.
God's love thus he earned.
Towards him, all turned.
So popular became his name,
He reached the height of fame.
God answered his prayer
And gave him whatever,
Every time, he wished for,
For his humble nature.
.
He became so wealthy,
Gold filled his treasury
Every year in tons,
In addition to grains.
He sat on a golden throne.
With a figure of lion,
For arms, on each side,
That enhanced his pride.
Day by day, he became wiser,
More than other kings richer,
His army grew stronger,
And his popularity wider.
