I saw a butterfly today
Flitting its majestic wings
Which so entranced me yet
As I grasped for it
It took for the shards
As I sat in the mixture of blue and yellow
I wondered
Why is the butterfly so beautiful?
Who gave it God ordained superiority over I?
Am I so ugly an insect
And it so great a man
That it is appalled and frightened by my touch?
I hesitated a moment
Letting my green skin shine true
I waited for hours
Then
Out of the grass
Flew the beauty
I the beast
I resisted my self doubt
I fancied flies no more
I unleashed my tongue…
I killed the bastard
Damn bugs.
