everybody wants it,
you know you do.
to see your thoughts recognized,
to see them valued.
we write these poems,
our soul spilled out on paper.
we know there's thousands else out there,
poems exactly like ours- maybe better...
but deep in our hearts,
we like to feel that ours is different.
that we will become famous,
that we will change the way poetry has ever been seen!
but you're fooling yourself,
the heart is a sly fellow.
that feeling you think you have,
it's all in your head.
but maybe, oh sweet maybe,
this poem is different.
it's unique (right?) and honest...and appealed to the reader (didn't it?)
oh...but this is just another trick of my mind!
