I buy a case
and put my heart in it
and lock the case tight
I put it on a shelf
a stare at it
and think
you can no longer
break my heart
if its locked away
time fades
and my heart fades
with it
I stare at my heart
barely beating
waiting for the day
I can trust someone
waiting for the day
someone will save
what's left of
my heart
