A mother’s death is one sure way
That’s guaranteed to always make you stray
Oedupis gets his girl
The city lights they call to you
Every-night he knows just what to do
Another dance-floor whirls
I know it’s wrong, to sing along, to the devil’s golden bow
But I really don’t have no-where else to go
I see your face and I feel distaste, like a painter watching flames destroy his art

You’re one year old, and tales unfold, whenever i mention your name
Things just couldn’t ever be the same
Emergency love on a fire escape, ironically held in the arms of another old flame
Except this one’s not so tame
The caveman calls each time you fall, and he gets just what he wants
'All’s fair in love and war' is his response
But how will I find such a desolate kind
Of woman, cold enough to play your parts
