Vanessa Kurtz - Losing Your Identity

2014-06-14 2 Dailymotion

Today, I knew I lost her.
In the early hours of the morning,
She just slipped away.
All that she worked for.
Came crumbling down upon her.

Today, she lost her hold on reality,
All the good in life turned sour,
All the strong ones fell weak.
Before the sun had even rose,
She had lost all control.
She no longer knew who she was.

Somewhere along that line,
She had fallen short
Of what everyone had wanted from her,
Just leaving her
Void, without an identity,
As just a label,
Failure,
Disappointment.
In the privacy of her own mind

All the pain she suffered,
All the pain she also caused,
All the times she was let down,
All the times she let them all down,
It all came rushing in,
And it became too unbearable.
She had been lost amongst the shuffle
Of those getting higher.

She will not be missed.
Today, I lost myself.
The once strong self has quietly exited.
The secure person I once was
Is now completely gone.
In the early hours of the morning
My happiness slipped away.

Before the sun had even rose
My joyous disposition surrendered to all my pain,
Letting the cold, hard reality of the world set in.
Today I lost all hope of ever finding my happy self again.
