Mrs. Jacobs is telling her neighbor Mrs. Sarinsky about the nephew’s Bar Mitzvah
But all she wants to hear about is the circumcision and the removal of the foreskin
Mrs. Sarinsky thinks it is an absurd custom and prefers to bed a Shaygetz
She is considered quite a spinster in town and when she speaks everybody listens
“Bulbenik” she utters as Mrs. Jacobs wonders what verbal gaffe of hers comes next
“Danken Got I have Marty” she thinks as she turns to leave the gossip on the stoop
“If not for him I too could be like her”
“If not for him Danken Got I would be lost'
Sitting down at her dining room table Mrs. Jacobs returns to polishing her silver
But she can’t stop thinking about the foreskin
Marty had always kept his in his pants Danken Got
