Christmas decorating is a ritual that transforms a home
Tinseled garland glistening like glittering lights of chrome
Jolly Santa and reindeers join with the robust snowmen
Radiant multicolored lights glow and warmly brighten
This year, I vowed to minimize the array and cut back
A cocked raised eyebrow gave warning of a verbal attack…
The mere mention was considered to be an act of treason
It is a tradition that can not be shunned this winter season
What would the holiday be like without all the decorations?
It would be like a desolate playground without recreation
Decades of special ornaments would simple be unseen
Please cast such thoughts away… don’t strip our joy lean
